In modern times do people really believe in astrology ? :

Astrology arose at the same time as astronomy, but given the interest of those in power in “guessing” the future with domination aims, it became more important. But it is not so important now because science knows now that planets have changed positions in the meantime, therefore the positioning of the signs of the zodiac does not make sense anymore.

Since the beginning of time, human beings have always tried to “know” the future to “dominate” the present. And to do that, there was nothing better than looking for the man-destiny relationship in the movement of the planets, stocking up with tools and knowledge that have been transmitted for ages in closed power circles, and together with religion made up a powerful tool for political domination.

By the way, this link was broken in the Middle Ages, when the Catholic Church condemned it as “obscure”. Actually, in the Bible fortunetellers and soothsayers were already considered an abomination to God (see Deuteronomy 18, 10-12)

But in modern times of culture and knowledge, human beings are still looking for answers about their destiny in a list of zodiac signs. When these symbols were created, they reflected in the skies a position of planets that has changed tremendously in more than five thousand years. Although they know that astrology is not a science, there are people who study it.

Many people gladly identify themselves with their zodiac sign: those who were born between September and October say “I am a Libra”; those who were born between the end of March and the first 20 days of April say “I am an Aries”. Knowing their sign would mean acknowledging their personality profile: they are expressive, introverted, irritable, sentimental, aggressive, almost poets, or simply musical. However, they forget that the positions of the sun and the planet which is supposed to rule them were totally different when they were born than they are today.

If astrology defines our sign and destiny on the basis of our birth date and time, then it does not make sense to look up our sign for a defined personality profile, because all people born at the same time as us would be identical to us, and there is still no proof of this.

In ancient times, it was thought that gods lived in the planets. This explains why the heavenly bodies were considered fundamental to know a person’s destiny and personality. That is not the case in the XXI century, when knowledge about the heavens is not imagination but fact, because of researches done with telescopes, satellites and probes sent by the NASA and the European Space Agency. Furthermore, we do know now that distances between planet Earth and other planets are immense.

Moreover, it has been known since the XIV century that Earth is not the center of the planetary system, but the sun (Nicolaus Copernicus), and astrology’s fundamental principle depends on the planets’ position referred to Earth.
Almost all newspapers around the world have a small section with the 12 signs of the zodiac and a daily forecast.

Perhaps somebody might think this is more than just entertainment, and actually believe that the fortune for Virgo will be true for the thousands of people born on that date.

Since immemorial times, the human beings’ objectives have been to have or maintain power and, in order to be able to do so, he has sought to know his future, that’s the primary reason why most ancient rulers had their own soothsayers, who they consulted about what fate had in store for them and, according to that, they decided what would enable them to achieve success and maintain their power, because basically that is what all was about.

The activity performed by these seers was known as astrology and its practitioners, the astrologers, who sought to establish links between human existence and the location of the stars in the spectrum of the sky around the earth, in order to be able to establish trends and make their predictions. It should be noted that the validity of these predictions has not been scientifically proven, whose vagueness sometimes allows stakeholders to believe that they are appropriate and accurate.

Astrology is expressed through the horoscope or astrological chart, being plotted with a circle that shows the location of the planets, the sun and the moon around the earth, so whoever wants to know his or her horoscope will provide the time, day and place of birth, in order to be able to obtain personalized predictions.

For the purpose of drawing the horoscope, it is considered that every person is shaped by the sun moon and ascendant signs. The Sun sign is the best known of all and it is comprised by the twelve zodiac signs and it points out where the sun was located at the time our mother gave birth to us and it defines who we are. The Moon sign tells us where in the global space the moon was when we were born and according to this location, we can learn which emotions will prevail in our character. The third sign uses the time we came into the world and therefore, how will out luck will be through our lives.

The graphical form of a Horoscope is a 360 degree circle, divided into twelve parts of thirty degrees each, called astrological houses and each one of them reflects a zodiac sign: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.

People believe that in a page of a newspaper or a radio program dedicated to the horoscope, we can find our destiny concerning matters such as health, job opportunities, economic conditions or the trips that we could do, among others, which is why we consult them daily.

But this is not like that, as there is among experts a widespread perception about the horoscopes published in newspapers, television and radio, have no validity whatsoever because they are not based on the time and date of birth of a person, but they are based on the position of the sun as seen from Earth, needing only to know the day and month of birth of the applicant, which takes the certainty from the prediction and gives it a sense of ambiguity, which is why people still use them.

The position of the sun as seen from Earth shows us how at the beginning it is placed on the sign Aries, and this date usually corresponds to March the 21^st and it moves gradually a degree per day, positioning itself on the different zodiac signs until it gets back to the March 21^st and begins following the circle again.

Meaning of each Tarot cards, Tarot card meanings :

Very often it gets more and more interesting to know what’s in the future for us, with an element called cards reading (tarot). So, with this tarot there is a way we can make some questions about our future and not only that, also we can ask about our past and present.

The cards reading is developed by an specific person who shuffles a deck of cards and then throw them over a table, after that, the meaning of the cards will be revealed by the person who threw them (this person is often called fortune teller) and the cards will answer the questions made by the person who is requiring this service.

The origins of this service called tarot are not exactly specified, but there are some people who think that it has its roots back in the Egyptian times… some others think that it is related to the old gypsies in Europe, although it may come from the age XV on Italy- Milano. Like you can see, we do not know exactly when or where the cards reading began but something that we can assure you is that many people all over the world practice and offer this service.

There are many kinds of cards used to the cards reading, one of these examples is the Spanish deck, the meaning will depend on the fortune tellers. Actually, it is not really needed to have the fortune teller in front of you to make the important questions, now these questions may be answered by telephone or internet service.

Like I said before, the cards reading must be developed with a deck meant for this kind of activity, generally there are 78 cards divided in two groups called “high arcanes” and “low arcanes” (22 high arcanes and 56 low arcanes) and not with the well-known cards we use to play poker or make magic tricks (52 cards).

Often the human beings are trying to find what is the future and what we can do about it, that is why the old astrologist made some studies about the sky and its meaning, mixing this knowledge (astronomy) with animal and even with religions. All of this mixing gives us as a result the zodiac, which specifically shows us 12 constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces; these are based on a date of birth that determinates the behaviour of each person.

The meaning of the word zodiac comes from the Greek Zoon which means animal and from Diakos which means wheel, so the word zodiac means wheel of the animals. This concept was born due the astrologist came to the conclusion that there are 360 degrees between the sun and the stars, which can form several figures on the outer space denominated “constellations” the space occupied by each one of these constellations is over 36 degrees.

The constellations adopted several forms, due their religious origins, mythological roots and the theory of symbols!!!! Here I will detail you the form of the 12 constellations according to their origins:
